The connection to Macau, another special administrative region, is made using the spur line G4W Guangzhou–Macau Expressway, which branches off from the main line in the city of Guangzhou, Guangdong. The expressway crosses Deep Bay, between Shenzhen and Hong Kong via the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Corridor.

The major cities connected by this expressway are:

Hong Kong

Hong Kong, as a Special Administrative Region, has its own highway system and does not use the G4 expressway designation for the section of the expressway in Hong Kong. The section is unsigned and will remain unsigned as it is only observed and recognized by the People's Republic of China. The section is signed Route 10 according to the Hong Kong highway numbering system.
